Way back when Aliens: Colonial Marines graced shelves, Sega came out and said that its release on the Wii U was “delayed indefinitely”. That was a pretty obvious outcome, considering the game was hot steaming trash. They were pretty silent about that delay for quite a while. Nobody really knew what was going to become of the Wii U version of Colonial Marines. That was until now.

Sega announced today that the Wii U version of Aliens will not be happening at all. Here’s what a Sega rep told Kotaku regarding the game.

“We are constantly looking at all areas of our business and in this case have made the decision to not continue development of the Wii U version,”

“Rest assured that we have some fantastic developments for Wii U in the pipeline which we will announce at a later date.”

Honestly, I don’t think the Wii U is going to miss Aliens: Colonial Marines. I don’t think that the gamepad or anything about the console could have given gamers any better of an experience. The game itself is just bad. Simple as that.

Hopefully Sega gets on their Wii U plans, though. I wouldn’t mind seeing one of their various titles on it.
