Yup, it’s finally happening. Fallout 4 has been announced and they’ve brought a trailer. I’ll get out of your way and just let you watch it.
Good stuff, right? So let’s dive into the details. First off: Fallout 4 is set in The Commonwealth, the Fallout version of Boston, MA, so all of those rumors floating around the internet were right after all. Players will take control of an inhabitant of Vault 111, an entirely new vault to the Fallout series. You will wander the remnants of Boston, encountering The Institute, the former MIT, Fenway Park, now an armored stronghold, and much more. Personally, I’m hoping there will be a literal Green Monster living in or near Fenway Park.
Another big detail is that the protagonist has his own voice, which could mean that your character will have their lines spoken. This would be an impressive and welcome improvement over the other games, as it really helps you feel connected to your character. And of course it will finally let you tell your dog companion what a good boy he is, yes he is!
A quest from Fallout 3 also gives us the hint that The Institute is capable of incredible scientific feats, including creating synthetic life forms and they’re probably the ones who put jet engines on that big ship. So we can be sure we’ll see some pretty crazy sights as we wander The Commonwealth!
There are a lot of questions still unanswered, but we won’t have to wait long! We’ll be seeing gameplay and much more information in less than two weeks at E3!
