Playstation Home on the Playstation 3 is no longer live. Sony closed the doors on the service yesterday. The closure was expected, as the company posted in the Community forums in September 2014 about the closure.

Sony posted “Due to a shifting landscape, PlayStation Home will cease publishing new content on November 12, 2014. Gamers in the U.S. and Canada will be able to download content until December 3, 2014. As a token of our tremendous gratitude to the community, we will also be releasing a series of free content prior to the platform’s closure on March 31, 2015.”

Though the company originally had stated above that new content would end on November, it has widely been reported that it continued until the beginning of 2015. Much of the content for Playstation Home was created by n-Space which was a huge contributor since the opening in 2008. The company has since moved onto Virtual Reality content.

Sony has adamantly stated that there are no plans to reopen or revamp Playstation Home for the Playstation 4 or the Playstation Vita.
