Helped in part by recent releases over the past couple months, the Nintendo 3DS has managed to gain 20 million sales on physical copies of games to this day for just the US alone.

For a point of reference (at least currently), these are the following sales figures for recently released games:

  • Luigi’s Mansion: Dark Moon had sold 365,000 physical copies in the month of March and around 415,000 copies, both physical and digital, at this current time.
  • Fire Emblem: Awakening¬†sold 64,000 physical and digital copies in March and 240,000 total to this day.
  • Pokemon Mystery Dungeon: Gates to Infinity¬†sold 145,000 units this month.

From last year’s month of March, the sales for the Nintendo 3DS have managed to increase a well-to-do 50 percent. Now, imagine what that will increase to over the next coming months when all the material from this week’s Nintendo Direct starts hitting shelves. Look out world! Here comes the 3DS!

Now…what about that Wii U, Nintendo?
