Released for Microsoft Windows in 2011 to great critical acclaim by Wadjet Eye Games and Joshua Nuernberger, Gemini Rue is now available for purchase on Apple devices like iPad, iPhone, and iPod Touch.
Gemini Rue was critically acclaimed by numerous publications including IGN, Eurogamer, and PC Gamer with an 82% aggregate score on Metacritic currently. Taking inspiration from point-and-click adventure games of older days, Gemini Rue was especially singled out for praise due to its storyline and the quality of the game’s older graphical style.
“We’ve done a huge amount of work and beta testing to make sure it plays well on a touch screen. We hope people enjoy Gemini Rue on iPhone and iPad as much as PC gamers have, and look forward to bringing more of our back catalog to the App Store in the future,” said Janet Gilbert of Wadjet Eye Games. “Gemini Rue has been one of our favorite games since Josh first pitched it to us…”
The game follows two characters, Azriel Odin and Delta-Six, in a dystopian world that is overshadowed by the influence of Boryukoden syndicate. The iOS version of the game’s releases will be overhauled for the transition to Apple devices with more comfortable touch screen control. The combat system (which was one of the more critical points from the Windows release) will be redone and the game will include voice acting and a developer’s commentary.
Gemini Rue will be able to run on iPod Touch 3G and up, iPhone 3GS and up, and all iPad devices.
Right now, the game is on sale for $3.99 at the iTunes store. When the sale ends, the game will go up to $4.99, so you better head on over and acquire the game if you’d like to give it a try.
