Capcom’s upcoming game, DmC, was brought along to Tokyo Game Show with a new trailer and some new screenshots.
The most recent reveal that comes from all of this is the addition of a new weapon known as Eryx. Eryx takes on the shape of gauntlets that look kind of golem-ish. Devil May Cry hasn’t been shy about including gauntlet-type weapons in their games as we’ve had Ifrit, Beowulf, and Gilgamesh in the past. While those three are named after figures in mythology who are pretty badass, I’ve only been able to find out that Eryx was a town in Sicily and also a mountain. However, Eryx was mentioned by Virgil in his poem, The Aeneid.
Enough about that though. The trailer seems to focus entirely on gameplay of which there is a lot of fast-paced demon slicing and cleaving all over the place. There’s some little snippets from cutscenes here and there, but not a lot of dialogue.
Enjoy the screens and video, people. DmC will be available for PS3, Xbox 360, and PC on January 15, 2013.
